Meet Surel’s Place
Surel’s Place is a donor-funded nonprofit arts community centered around an artist-in-residence program that brings painters, writers, sculptors, musicians, and other artists from around the world to live and work for a month in their home and studio in Garden City. In addition, Surel's Place offers short-term and long-term studio residencies for local artists, manages the First Friday Art and Studio Strolls in the Surel Mitchell Live-Work-Create District, hosts exhibitions and art talks throughout the year, and more. Garden City Placemaking Fund
The Garden City Placemaking Fund is a Surel’s Place collaboration with Garden City business owners, artists, and residents. The Garden City Placemaking fund is designed to give young, emerging, and BIPOC artists opportunities to create large-scale public art and to spur the kinds of collaborations and conversations that can identify and foster shared values and shape our community’s shared future. Lost Grove x Surel’s Place
Here’s what we are doing this month to support Surel’s Place:
Pop-Up Gallery: We put up a pop-up art gallery in the Lost Grove taproom featuring art from artists who have worked with Surel’s Place in the last year. All of the art is for sale! Come see the gallery all month long and maybe even take a piece home with you. Buy art from the pop-up gallery.
Powerful Pint Night: Art-Themed Music Bingo - Join us on Monday, Feb 13 for art-themed music bingo! Surel’s Place volunteers, artists, and board members will be here to mix and mingle. 50% of taproom proceeds from this whole day will go directly to Surel’s Place. Learn more.
Powerful Pint Beer: Buy a Margot Amber Ale anytime in February and $2 from each pint will go directly to Surel’s Place.
Round Up At Checkout: When you visit the taproom in February, round your tab up to the nearest dollar to donate your change to Surel’s Place. Those little donations will add up to make a big difference at the end of the month!
