We were already really excited about our new Bottle Club and barrel-aged beer series, but honestly, this project just got even cooler. We are stoked to announce that we are launching an Artist in Residence program and the talented Miguel Almeida has agreed to be our first artist in the program!
About the Artist in Residence Program
As we have been getting things ready to launch our new barrel-aged beer series and Bottle Club, we knew that we wanted the labels on these beers to look fresh and cool as hell. And who knows “fresh and cool as hell” better than an awesome local artist?
So, we put some thought into it and came up with the idea to partner with a different local artist each year. This artist will create the artwork for our barrel-aged beer series and partner with us over the course of the year to come up with ideas for merchandise, art displays in the brewery, and whatever else we can dream up together.
To kick this program off, we knew we wanted to work with someone with a distinctively rad style and an interest in helping us get this program off the ground. Enter: Miguel!
We are so excited that Miguel has agreed to be our very first Artist in Residence here at the brewery and can’t wait to see his vivid art on our barrel-aged beers! I mean, seriously, check out this rad art he creates.
Miguel is a painter and digital artist who has worked on projects for the Lisa Sanchez city council campaign, Push and Pour, Treefort, and more. His personal work is largely inspired by his upbringing as a first-generation Mexican American and he combines colors inspired by Mexican folk art and heavy line work into his modern graphic style. Check out his amazing work on his website or Instagram.
Thank you to Miguel for agreeing to help us pilot this program and welcome to the Lost Grove team!
An additional special thank you to Mary Beth Whitaker and Rachel Teannalach for lending your time, ideas, and feedback to the formation of this new program.
